The Services Resource Record (SRV) enables a hostname to be associated with a service.SRV records store information on services provided by the Domain Name System, including hostnames and ports, and provide it to any application that requests it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Query initiated for SRV of a service pulls out the following data:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 hostname(s)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 port number of the service<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 IP address(es) of the service\/server(s)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 two values used to exactly determine the relative performance as well as the priority of the service<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SRV records are supported and utilized by various services such as XMPP, SIP, LDAP, MS Outlook, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

# How to add it from cPanel?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

SRV record can be added from your cPanel by duplicating the steps given below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Log in to your cPanel<\/strong> account.
2. Click on DNS Zone Editor<\/strong> in the Domains<\/strong> section.<\/p>\n\n\n
