Steps to Change WordPress Username with Username Changer Plugin<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of the easiest ways to change your WordPress username is with the help of free plugin called \u201cUsername Changer\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have to install and activate this plugin. Next step is go to Users ===> Your Profile<\/strong>. Next to your username, you will get the option to Change Username<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Steps to Change WordPress Username by Creating\/Deleting Accounts<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Here, you have to follow three steps to change the username and those steps are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 First, you have to create a new username
\u2022 After that transfer old username authorship to your new username
\u2022 Finally, you have to delete your old username<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: First, you have to create a new username<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re a WordPress user then you have the right to create a new username. For this, you have to go to Users ===> Add New<\/strong> and create a new user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter the name as per your demand in the username box and make sure you have set the administrator role to this account. This is applicable, when you are changing another user\u2019s username.<\/p>\n\n\n

As of now, you won\u2019t be able to use the same email as your existing account. But, you can update it after deleting your original account in the next step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After adding the new user, you can log out from your WordPress dashboard and then again log back in using the new username<\/strong> that you have created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steps to Change WordPress Username Via phpMyAdmin<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Very Important:<\/strong> In this step, you can directly edit your WordPress website\u2019s database. So, it\u2019s suggested to do it carefully, unless you feel comfortable working with phpMyAdmin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Further, it\u2019s suggested to take back up of your database before doing the changes. If your WordPress blog is hosted on Hostvento server then make sure you\u2019ve taken the backup of the database from Backup Manager OR phpMyadmin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this way, here, I will explain the steps to change a WordPress username 100% manually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Access phpMyadmin<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re hosting your blog at Hostvento, you can operate phpMyadmin from your cPanel. To do this, you have to log in to your cPanel account ==> click phpMyadmin.<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 2: Browse To wp_users Table<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After clicking<\/strong> on phpMyadmin<\/strong>, you will get redirected to the dashboard of phpMyadmin. On your left-hand side, click<\/strong> on the wp_users table<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n

Step 3: Edit Username<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After clicking<\/strong> on wpgu_users<\/strong>, you will get redirected to the user\u2019s name list<\/strong>. Click<\/strong> on edit<\/strong> option near the username that you want to change.<\/p>\n\n\n
