Email messages, files, and other data can be encrypted and decrypted using public and private keys, or keypairs, in public-key cryptography systems. Senders encrypt items using the recipient&#8217;s public key, while recipients decrypt the contents using their own private keys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is easy to create, import, view and delete keys by using cPanel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"># Steps to create a new Key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure that you create a new keypair first, so as to use GnuPG encryption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Perform the following steps to create a new GnuPG keypair :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Log in to&nbsp;<strong>cPanel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Go to&nbsp;<strong>Email<\/strong>&nbsp;section on the cPanel home screen, and click on&nbsp;<strong>Encryption<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Under&nbsp;<strong>Create a New Key<\/strong>&nbsp;section, type your name in the text box for&nbsp;<strong>Name<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. In the text box for&nbsp;<strong>Your Email<\/strong>, type your&nbsp;<strong>e-mail address<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Type a comment or nickname for the key in the text box provided for the&nbsp;<strong>Comment\/Nickname<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. Type the password that you want in the text box for the&nbsp;<strong>Key Password<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. Again type the Password in the&nbsp;<strong>Password<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>(Again)<\/strong>&nbsp;text box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. In the text box for<strong>&nbsp;Expire Date<\/strong>, type an expiration date for the key. The default expiration date is one year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9. Select a key size in the text box for the&nbsp;<strong>Key Size<\/strong>&nbsp;list box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10. Click on&nbsp;<strong>Generate Key<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the process gets completed, it will show you The Key has been successfully created appears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"># Steps to Import a Key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can import your public key, only if you already have a keypair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1. On the cPanel home screen, go to the&nbsp;<strong>Email<\/strong>&nbsp;section and click on&nbsp;<strong>Encryption<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Click on&nbsp;<strong>Import Key<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Copy and Paste your text key into the text box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure when you copy-paste the text, you include following lines at the key\u2019s beginning and ending lines :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014\u2014BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK\u2014\u2014-Key data<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2014\u2014END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK\u2014\u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Click on&nbsp;<strong>Import<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"># Steps to view and delete a key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Go to&nbsp;<strong>Email<\/strong>&nbsp;section on the cPanel home screen and click on&nbsp;<strong>Encryption<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;<strong>Identify and locate the key<\/strong>&nbsp;that you wish to view or delete. For each email address, there will be separate private and a public key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Click on&nbsp;<strong>View<\/strong>&nbsp;to view the key.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022&nbsp;<strong>Identify and locate the private key<\/strong>&nbsp;and click on&nbsp;<strong>Delete GnuPG Key<\/strong>, to delete the key. Then click on Yes to confirm your deletion.
