Also, cPanel clients can use email routing to direct or \u201croute\u201d incoming domain emails to a different server.<br>As the domain&#8217;s DNS records automatically reflect the changes made in the cPanel, it is a preventive step that aids in the operation of email hosting. It is a fantastic tool that serves as an email backup server in case of server outages or breakdowns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To Configure&nbsp;Email Routing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>1. Log in to cPanel.<br>2. Click on&nbsp;<strong>Email Routing&nbsp;<\/strong>in the&nbsp;<strong>EMAIL<\/strong>&nbsp;section.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hostvento.com\/kb\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/cp_email_routing.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13246\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Email Routing application will open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select a&nbsp;<strong>Domain&nbsp;<\/strong>from the dropdown list&nbsp;to route its incoming mail to another server.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the configuration for email routing:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Automatically Detect Configuration : Local<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 It is a recommended configuration setting for email routing. It considers the priority of your MX Records and automatically selects a configuration among&nbsp;<em>Local<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Backup<\/em>, or&nbsp;<em>Remote mail Exchanger<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Local Mail Exchanger&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 By selecting this option, the system will be able to deliver emails to the local mailbox and accept all emails without showing any choice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Backup Mail Exchanger<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 If the primary mail exchanger with a proper MX entry is down, this option will allow the server to act as a backup exchanger. It can then hold all the incoming mail until the primary mail exchanger comes back online.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Remote Mail Exchanger<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 No mail from this domain will&nbsp;route to the server, i.e., the server will not accept mail for this domain.
