What are webmail applications?
Webmail applications enable you to check your e-mail accounts by using your web browser. You can compose and read e-mail messages, maintain an address book, and perform other common tasks. Offline e-mail client applications, such as Thunderbird and Microsoft Outlook, generally provide more features than webmail applications but also require more initial configuration.
cPanel includes the Roundcube webmail application.
The feature of webmail is optional. To access your email accounts, you can also use your favorite email client program, like Microsoft Outlook or Thunderbird. You can even utilize a client application in addition to webmail. For instance, you may check your email while at work using webmail, and after you get home, use a client program to download it to your computer. Please refer to this article for details on setting up a client email application.
